Jonker Street Melaka (Jonker Walk)
The historic heartbeat of Melaka’s vibrant heritage

Introduction
If you haven't stepped onto Jonker Street Melaka (Jonker Walk), you haven't truly seen Melaka. Once the prestigious home of Peranakan aristocrats and wealthy merchants, this street has transformed from a row of quiet antique shops into a bustling cultural hub. By day, it’s a picturesque stretch of narrow shophouses featuring ornate façades and hidden courtyards. By night, especially on weekends, it turns into a glowing festival of street food and bargain hunting.
We love Jonker Street because it manages to balance its "tourist" status with genuine historical weight. You can grab a modern "Gula Melaka" latte in a chic café, then walk two doors down to find a temple that has stood for centuries. Whether you’re a foodie chasing the perfect chicken rice ball or a history buff looking for 19th-century woodwork, this is your home base in Melaka.
