Introduction

If you have kids (or are just a big kid at heart), Legoland Malaysia Resort is likely at the top of your Johor itinerary. Spanning over 76 acres, it isn't just a theme park; it’s a full-blown resort experience where everything—from the hotel's dragon-guarded entrance to the salt-shakers in the restaurants—is inspired by the iconic plastic brick.

We love that Legoland stays true to the "interactive" spirit of the brand. You aren't just sitting on rides; you’re building LEGO rafts in the water park, steering boats in LEGO City, and programming robots at the Imagination center. Since it opened in 2012, it has become the anchor of Johor's tourism, drawing crowds from across the causeway and beyond.

What to See and Do at Legoland Malaysia

Legoland Theme Park

The heart of the resort is divided into several themed "lands." The Beginning serves as the colorful entrance hub, leading you to LEGO City, where kids can earn their "Driver’s License." We highly recommend LEGO Kingdoms for the Dragon Roller Coaster and LEGO Ninjago World for its high-tech 4D indoor ride.

Hours

10:00 AM – 6:00 PM (Subject to seasonal changes)

Miniland Asia

This is the park's centerpiece and a masterpiece of patience. Built with over 30 million LEGO bricks, it features 1:20 scale replicas of famous Asian landmarks like the Petronas Twin Towers, Angkor Wat, and the Taj Mahal. Many of the displays are interactive, press a button and you’ll see the boats in the Malacca River move or hear the call to prayer at the Sultan Abu Bakar Mosque.

Legoland Water Park

Designed for the Malaysian heat, this is the largest Legoland Water Park in the world. The standout feature is the Build-A-Raft River, where you can catch floating LEGO bricks to customize your tube as you float along. There are over 20 slides, including the high-speed Brick Blaster.

Fees

Requires a separate ticket or a "Combo" pass

Sea Life Aquarium

This two-story aquarium focuses on conservation and interactive learning. It features 11 themed habitat zones containing over 13,000 sea creatures. The walkthrough Ocean Tunnel is the highlight, giving you a 180-degree view of sharks and rays swimming overhead. Look out for the LEGO divers hidden inside the tanks!

Frequently asked questions

Can I visit all three parks in one day?

Technically yes, but it’s a rush. We suggest a 2-day pass if you want to experience the Water Park fully without missing the shows and rides in the main Theme Park.

Is it suitable for toddlers?

Absolutely. Most "lands" have a DUPLO-themed play area, and LEGO City has several rides designed specifically for younger children with lower height requirements.

Should I buy tickets in advance?

Yes. Booking online at least 3 days in advance on the official website usually nets you a 10% to 20% discount compared to walk-in rates.
